Routine care without guesswork
Remove loose dirt from accessible tracks and keep designed drainage outlets unobstructed. Use the cleaning products and methods allowed by the manufacturer for the finish and glazing.
Inspect the operation and note any change. If a sash or door begins to bind, forcing the handle can make diagnosis harder. Ask for the appropriate guidance rather than adjusting unfamiliar hardware.
Describe the symptom precisely
| What you notice | Useful information to record |
|---|---|
| Condensation | Which surface is wet: indoors, outdoors or between panes? |
| Difficult operation | Which sash or panel, and at what part of the movement? |
| Water entry | Where it appears and the weather or event associated with it. |
| Finish concern | Location, photographs and the cleaning products used. |

Separate product care from an adjustment
Cleaning a track or accessible seal surface is different from adjusting hardware. Follow the product instructions and avoid experimenting with unfamiliar screws, restraints or glazing components. Describe the issue before altering the assembly.
If the concern involves water, photograph where it appears and the surrounding frame, wall and outdoor condition. That helps distinguish a glass, operation, perimeter or drainage assessment and identify the appropriate next step.
